Data Deletion Instructions

Overview
Storehouses provides users with full control over their personal data, including the ability to permanently delete their account and all associated information. This page outlines the complete process for requesting and completing account deletion.
How to Request Account Deletion
To initiate the account deletion process, please follow these steps:
- Log into your Storehouses account at storehouses.app
- Navigate to Dashboard → Account
- Scroll to the bottom of the Account page
- Click the "Delete Account" button
- Review the deletion warning and confirm your intent to proceed
Email Confirmation Required
After initiating account deletion from your Account page, you will receive a confirmation email at the email address associated with your Storehouses account. This email will contain a unique confirmation link.
Important: Your account deletion will not begin until you click the confirmation link in this email. This is a security measure to prevent unauthorized account deletion.
If you do not receive the confirmation email within 15 minutes, please check your spam or junk folder. The confirmation link will expire after 24 hours for security purposes.
7-Day Deactivation Period
Once you click the confirmation link in your email, your account will enter a 7-day deactivation period. During this time:
Subscription and Billing
- If you have an active paid subscription (Pro or Lifetime), it will be automatically downgraded to the Free plan
- All billing will be stopped immediately
- No refunds will be issued for unused subscription time
- You will retain access to your data during the 7-day deactivation period for export purposes
Account Access Restrictions
- Your account will be immediately deactivated
- You will not be able to access any dashboard pages or features
- All authenticated routes and pages will redirect to the account deactivation screen
- You will see a message stating: "This account has been deactivated and is in the process of deletion"
Available Options During Deactivation
While your account is deactivated, you will have two important options:
- Cancel Deletion & Restore Account: You may cancel the deletion process and have your account fully restored and reactivated at any time during the 7-day window. Simply click the "Cancel Deletion" button on the deactivation screen.
- Export Your Data: You can export your collection data as either a CSV spreadsheet or PDF report. This option will remain available throughout the entire 7-day deactivation period.
Critical Notice: After the 7-day deactivation period ends, it will be impossible to restore your account or recover any data. All information will be permanently deleted from our servers. Backups are your responsibility.
Data Export Responsibility
Users are solely responsible for exporting their collection data before account deletion. We strongly recommend that you:
- Export your complete inventory and collection data before initiating account deletion
- Download both CSV and PDF formats for maximum compatibility and backup purposes
- Store exported data securely in multiple locations (cloud storage, local backups, etc.)
- Verify that your exported files contain all necessary information before the 7-day period expires
Data export functionality will remain available during the 7-day deactivation period as a final opportunity to retrieve your information. However, we recommend exporting your data before initiating deletion to ensure you have adequate time to review and verify the exported files.
What Data Will Be Deleted
When your account deletion is finalized after the 7-day period, the following information will be permanently removed from our servers:
- Your user account and authentication credentials
- All collection items and inventory records
- Storage location information
- Heir share links and associated permissions
- Export history and generated reports
- Price alerts and notification preferences
- Billing and subscription information
- All personal information associated with your account
This deletion is comprehensive and permanent. Once completed, no data can be recovered or restored by Storehouses or any third party.
Cancellation and Restoration
If you change your mind during the 7-day deactivation period, you can cancel the deletion process and restore your account at any time by:
- Logging into your Storehouses account (you will see the deactivation screen)
- Clicking the "Cancel Deletion & Restore Account" button
- Confirming that you want to restore your account
Your account will be immediately reactivated, and you will regain full access to all your data and features. However, this option is only available during the 7-day deactivation window. After this period expires, restoration will not be possible.
Permanent Deletion After 7 Days
Once the 7-day deactivation period has elapsed:
- All account data will be permanently and irreversibly deleted from our production databases
- Backup copies will be purged from our backup systems within 30 days, in accordance with our backup retention policies
- Your email address will be disassociated from your account, allowing you to create a new account with the same email if desired
- No data recovery or account restoration will be possible under any circumstances
Legal and Regulatory Retention
Please note that certain information may be retained for legal, regulatory, or security purposes, even after account deletion:
- Transaction records required for tax and accounting purposes (up to 7 years)
- Data necessary to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes
- Information required to prevent fraud and ensure platform security
- Aggregated, anonymized data that cannot be linked to you personally
Such retained information is stored securely, used only for the specified legal purposes, and will not be used for marketing or operational purposes.
